Hunting Coven of the Old Craft

COVEN LIFE in photo’s

This page is a mish mash of photo’s of the AC and our friends and shows life as a witch and a coven member is more than just ritual and craft work. A Coven is a family, a family who share all the love, joys and heartaches that come to us all…But being a Coven Witch is above all, our whole life, and its great fun too. These photo’s are purposely mixed up to emphasise how fundamental the craft is in our lifes and how it shapes every moment.

    The Winding Path

My path lies in the dimming woods
    Among the stately trees
In the wild wood I’ll walk
At the coming of the eve

My path lies in the open air
    Upon the windswept plains
I will walk where the long grass blows
And corn holds aloft its grains

My path lies in the misty vale
At the turning of autumn leaf
At Lughnassadh I’ll walk the wolds
    And my own appointments keep

My path lies with the ancient ones
In their honour I will serve
And by the grace of the ancient Gods
    I’ll walk in their preserve

As the eve of Sahmain comes
    I’ll walk among the veil
    I’ll hold repast with ancestors
    By ancient tomb and trail

And now is the time of the Holly King
The dark time his to rule
    In the deepest winter night
Comes a new day born at Yule

At Imbolc I will rise again
    As does the Oaken King
    As The Holly King subsides
    A snowdrop, tiny precious thing

    At the merry Beltane tide
I’ll come to dance and sing
For now as the days grow warm and long
    We’ll welcome in the Spring

In the height of the summer sun
At the time of longest day
We’ll sing in the hope of fair harvest
    And cut the summer hay

    And Lughnassadh is first harvest
    With blackberry, hop and corn
We’ll all be out in the early mist
In the grey light just ere dawn

This land is the world of the ancient gods
    Whose bodies are the soil
Whose rivers feed the ancient woods
Whose wind will fill my sail

And now I pledge my self to them
    The ancient ones all around
Until I have passed on through the veil
And my body’s in the ground.

    Good to know you’re there!

    Blessed be!

Wonderful, in touch with the land and the old ways. I myself am just about to start a small coven in Watford, Hertfordshire, based on my family initiations, and Cornish Witchcraft, thanks to Gemma Gary. Blessings.
